Our Topic this term is
'Scream Machine'

Roll up, roll up! You're going on a day trip to a theme park to soak up the unique sights, smells and sounds of the fair.

Learn about the science behind roller coasters and write poems that are shaped as a loop the loop. Design your own theme park and show your ideas on a digital map.

Testing, Testing! Time for some mini investigations, Cam mechanisms, pendulums, pulleys and prototypes. Let's go behind the scenes to see forces at work.

Good news! The engineers at 'Scream Towers' love your work and want you to build a death-defying new drop ride for a theme park. Make a working model and test it out with uncooked eggs. Cracking stuff!

Okay, ready to ride? Don't forget to scream if you want to go faster

Mini Marines 7

The children took part in Mini marines this week up on the field. The children had to work as part of a team to put up a bivvy.

Both teams managed to conquer the bivvy, a feat that hasn't been achieved by all Schools they have been working with! Well done!

Poppy Art

As part of the centenary year for WW1, the children have created some lovely Poppy Art to mark 100 years since WW1.

The children have tried really hard on this! Well done!

A busy week continued, as the children got a surprise visit from Lilly's nan with some kittens from her cattery.

The children got chance to ask questions and also stroke the kittens!

Thank you so much Dianne for bringing them in and making the children's week!

As part of Halloween, Hockney class have designed their own pumpkins in groups.

The carving was done by Mrs Ferris, but the children had to empty the pumpkin of all its seeds and gunge. Then the children had to design their faces! The children had a great time!

Mini Marines 6

Although it is the term before Christmas, there was no rest for the children of Hockney class, who are continuing with Mini Marines this term.

The children learnt about observation posts, spying on their target through binoculars and cargo nets!

A hardy effort by all involved! Good work!

Ride Poem

As part of our new topic 'Scream Machine' the children have been performing 'The Ride' poem as part of English.

The children had to perform the poem in groups, using rhyme, rhythm and expression. Great effort by all!
