Our Topic this term is
'Beast Creator'

A bug, a creepy-crawly, a beast! He'll tickle your skin and then go in for the sting!

Arachnids, invertebrates, molluscs and myriapods, hiding in nooks and beneath darkened rocks... Come search for these minibeasts, and let's sort them out! How many legs? How many wings? Who does it eat and who eats it? Can you classify it? Can you draw it or make it?

Build a bug hotel or a wonderful wormery - then watch them wriggle and burrow, mixing earth as they go!

Discover where in the world you'll find the deadliest beasts - scorpions, ants and venomous spiders... perhaps the Vespa mandarinia japonics is the one that you fear?

Why not become a 'Beast Creator'? Selectively breed a killer predator that saves the world from the super-strong aphid.

You'll be a hero!

But I know an old lady who swallowed a fly. I don't know why she swallowed a fly... perhaps she'll die?'

Mother's Day:

In preparation for Sunday, the children of Hockney class have been busy creating their Mother's day cards. As you can see from the photos, they look fantastic, with a lot of pride and effort going into each one!

We wish every Mum a happy Mother's day this weekend!

Netball Competition:

On Thursday, some of the children in Year 4,5 and 6 took part in a Netball competition at Dean Academy.

There was enough interest for two teams, meaning 16 children played in the competition altogether. Both teams managed to finish 2nd in their respective groups, narrowly missing out on the Forest School finals.

A great, but cold afternoon was enjoyed by all!

Thank you as ever to the parents for all of their support! Well done all!
