Peasants, Princes and Pestilence image

Our Topic this term is...
"Peasants, Princes and Pestilence"

Flee your fields, close your doors and pull up the drawbridge: the dreaded and deathly 'Great Pestilence' is here! Mount your steed and gallop through the dark and deadly world of 14th century Britain, sword and shield at the ready, pledging your allegiance to king and country!

Rouse your troops with promises of bloody battle and violent jousts. Read and write historical accounts, poems and tales and discover the grotesque effects of bugs and bacteria on the human body.

And if you smell a rat, my friend - get out of there!

In preparation for our carol service, the children have been making Christingles.

We spoke about the Religious elements to the Christingle.

Let's hope they manage to stay away from the sweets until the service!

Christmas Cards

Hockney Class have been busy creating their Christmas Cards, ready to give to their families. The children used watercolours to create their cards. Great effort all!

Christmas Crafts

It was the start of the Christmas week and the children made some beautiful Christmas Crafts.

Here are some snowmen Hockney Class have created! Well done everyone!

In Science this term we have been focusing on Space.

Today we had a special visit from Mr Edy, who works at The Dean Academy, to talk about and look at constellations. The children got to create their own constellations out of play dough and also make their own water rockets.

The children had a wonderful time and a special thank you to Mr Edy for giving up his time!

Christmas Classroom

Hockney Class is all ready for the run up to Christmas! Hopefully Mr Stevenson won't notice the electricity bill!

Children in Need

A fantastic day was had for Children in Need.

The children made origami Pudseys in class and then took part in a ramble through the woods during the afternoon.

Well done to all the children who wore spotty clothing, pyjamas/onesies or Children in Need clothing.

Well over £100 was raised for charity!
