Our Topic this term is...
"Peasants, Princes and Pestilence"

Flee your fields, close your doors and pull up the drawbridge: the dreaded and deathly 'Great Pestilence' is here! Mount your steed and gallop through the dark and deadly world of 14th century Britain, sword and shield at the ready, pledging your allegiance to king and country!

Rouse your troops with promises of bloody battle and violent jousts. Read and write historical accounts, poems and tales and discover the grotesque effects of bugs and bacteria on the human body.

And if you smell a rat, my friend - get out of there!

Viney Hill

Wow! What a school trip that was! Hockney Class had a lovely time at Viney Hill activity centre. They took part in Archery, low ropes, team building activities and also ate lunch by the side of a camp fire.

A big thank you to Mr Dean and Kathryn for organising this great day for us all! Well done everyone!

Remembrance Week

This week in class the children have celebrated a Remembrance Week.

The children have taken part in painting remembrance rocks, to place at Pillowell Rec memorial ground, Remembrance day silhouette chalk drawings, a two-minute silence and also designed tissue paper poppies.

A special mention must go to George and Scarlet, who have been selling poppy memorabilia in school over the past two weeks, to raise money for The Royal British Legion.

It's been a fabulous week!

Bonfire Art

With the run up to bonfire night, the children have produced some wonderful bonfire art using pastels, stencils and black card.

The children had a great time creating these! Well done all!
