Our Topic this term is
'Blood Heart'

Crimson, scarlet, burgundy, cherry... blood flows through our bodies in all its vibrant shades of red. Let's explore our circulation system! Now surgeons, done be squeamish as we dissect an animal heat and examine the veins, arteries and chambers up close. They all work hard to move blood around out bodies.

William Harvey was fascinated with anatomy and made groundbreaking discoveries about valves. I wonder what we might uncover?

Year 6 Battlesports

On Thursday, as a reward for all of their hard work this year, the Year 6 children took part in Battlesports. The children split up into two teams and completed several games of laser tag, with the Blakeney and Walmore Hill children.

After this, the children then went to Beechenhurst where they had an ice-cream and played on the outdoor area. A lovely day was had by all!

Year 5 at Dean Academy

The Year 5 children had a wonderful activity day at Dean Academy on Monday, where they took part in Science, Maths and DT.

The children got the chance to experiment with bunsen burners in Science, look at investigations in Maths and create dog tags in DT.

The children were impeccably behaved and a true pleasure to take. Well done all involved!


Three Counties Show

Hockney class had a wonderful trip to the Three Counties show in Malvern on Friday.

Despite the bad weather, the children had a great time looking at animals, watching events at the main arena, getting their faces painted and eating lots of pick n mix and ice cream. The children were a true joy to take out!



Mini Marines 2

It was the first session of Mini Marines for Hockney class. The children got to meet their new Marine for the term Dan.

He spoke to the children about confidence and respect before taking the children up to the field to do a range of teamwork activities!

Hockney class have been busy making Father's day cards ahead of Sunday. Well done all involved!
