Our Topic this term is
'Frozen Kingdom'

Welcome to the planet's coldest lands... vast wilds, hostile territories, incredibly beautiful yet often deadly. Take shelter from the elements or fall prey to icy winds and deepest chill. Trek bravely and valiantly across treacherous terrain to the ends of the Earth, treading deep in snow or pulled by a team of mighty sled dogs.

Be alert, for magnificent mammals roam these lands, sometimes hungry or fresh for a fight. Perhaps a hungry polar bear or an artic fox; hunting rodents and swift as the wind!

Research facts and figures of climate, temperature, habitats and eco-systems and compose evocative poems about the Northern Lights.

Become part of an Antarctic rescue team, braving the elements to rescue terrified passengers from a ship struck by a deadly berg that hides deep beneath the Antarctic Ocean.

Cycle Training

During this week, the Year 6 children have been very busy taking part in Cycle training. The children have learnt how to cycle safely, whilst on the road, as well as, key skills of cycling!

Well done to all involved!

Arctic Explorer

Hockney Class were in for a surprise on Tuesday, when they had a special visit from Rob an Arctic explorer.

Rob works for the charity Wicked Weather Watch and spoke to the children about his travels around Greenland and across the Arctic! Rob showed a range of sailing kit he used during the travels and answered a variety of tricky questions on the Arctic off the children!

Thanks for coming in Rob!

Writing Workshop

The Year 6 children of Hockney class have been busy working with Blakeney Year 6s on their writing, as part of a workshop set up for SATs.
First of all, the children explored all the features that must be used in their writing, before watching a clip off the 'Literacy Shed' and writing their opening two paragraphs. The children all worked really hard, making new friends in the process.

The workshop will run every Wednesday Afternoon up until the Easter Holidays!

Gym Performances

During P.E this term and last term, the children have been working well in Gymnastics.

The children have learned a range of balances, rolls, jumps and levels, eventually building up to a big performance! The children were very proud of their performances and a lot of hard work and pride has gone into each one.

Mr Forster and Miss Loomes are extremely proud of each and everyone one of you!
