Our Topic this term is
'A Child's War'

A siren sounds, a building crumbles, a Spitfire zooms overhead. Take cover! It's 1939 and Britain is at war. Deep down in the Anderson shelter, learn why nations are fighting and why child evacuees must make the long journey from their homes and families into unknown territory.

Read the diary of Anne Frank, written whilst hiding from the terrifying stormtroopers in a secret annexe, and try to empathise with her hopes and fears.

Straw Crowns

The girls of Hockney class have been busy making straw crowns ready for the Harvest assembly.

We are exploring harvest time in Poland, where the village girl wears a straw crown and a cockerel is placed on her head. If the cockerel crows then this will bring good luck to the girl!

Evacuee Letters

Hockney class have been busy creating evacuee letters as part of their World War Two topic.

If you get chance come in and see our display board once they're finished! Superb effort everyone!

Mountain Biking Club

Mountain biking club started up again this week for Hockney class and will be running on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The club is taken by a mountain biking instructor and the children will be cycling in the woods!
