Our Topic this term is
'Frozen Kingdom'

Welcome to the planet's coldest lands... vast wild's, hostile territories, incredibly beautiful yet often deadly. Take shelter from the elements or fall prey to icy winds and deepest chill. Trek bravely and valiantly across treacherous terrain to the ends of the Earth, treading deep in snow or pulled by a team of might sled dogs.

Be alert, for magnificent mammals roam these lands, sometimes hungry or fresh for a fight. Perhaps a hungry polar bear or an arctic fox; hunting rodents and sift as the wind!

Research facts and figures of climate, temperature, habitats and eco-systems and compose evocative poems about the Northern Lights.

Become part of an Antarctic rescue team, braving the elements to rescue terrified passengers from a ship struck by a deadly berg that hides deep beneath the Antarctic Ocean.

So wrap up well everyone and settle by the fire. I'm just going outside and may be some time... "

French Morning

The children were treated to a lovely morning of French by Miss Burns from Dean Academy.

The children got to design monsters focusing on body parts and colours.

A huge thank you to Miss Burns, the children had a wonderful time!

Cycle Training

On Monday and Tuesday the Year 6 children have been taking part in Cycle Training.

They have been learning how to do u-turns, signalling, different positions and how to cycle safely on the road. Well done Year 6!

KNEX Challenge

The children took part in the exciting and very creative KNEX challenge today. The children had to make a carnival float, which had certain requirements.

The two lucky winners were Ruby and Hazel, who will represent the school at the regional finals in March at Renishaw headquarters! Well done everyone involved!

Young Voices

Half of Hockney class took part in Young Voices on Thursday at the Resorts Arena in Birmingham.

The children had a brilliant time, first rehearsing for the concert, before performing it in front of thousands of parents.

They even got chance to see Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet! Super work!
