Monday 5th February was Superhero Day in Lowry Class!
We all came to school dressed as superheroes! Some of us were Spiderman, some of us were Batman and Batgirl, there were some Supermen and women! Captain America’s, some Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles and even some real life superheroes!
We started the day as normal with our handwriting……BUT THEN…..an urgent email from Mr Stevenson needing our help!
The evil Professor Slime had been leaving some fiendish instructions around the school for all the children of Pillowell to follow, leaving his slimy green trail behind him! It was our job to save the day! In teams we searched the school for the slimy instructions and took them away before he could influence the children! We collected all of the instructions and some of the children even claimed to have seen Professor Slime lurking around the school!
We made superhero snacks by decorating cakes all different colours! They were super scrumptious! Then we made pictures of ourselves using our super powers to fly across the night sky!
We then finished what was a super busy day by watching The Incredibles.
We all thoroughly enjoyed Superhero Day and would like to thank everyone who provided us with costumes for this terrific day!
As part of our topic this term ‘Superheroes’ we have been discussing what a real life superhero is. We have looked at the emergency services and what makes them heroes.
We had a visit from some of the Lydney Fire and Rescue Service! The children were able to ask lots of questions to the crew and found out what superpowers they would have that could help them with their job! We even got to try on their helmets and sit in a fire engine!
We had a great time and would like to give a massive thank you to Chris Harland and the other members of the fire and rescue service for taking some time out of their busy days to come and visit us, we absolutely loved having you here!
